Check-in and health checks
Report your arrival, present the required documents and follow the organiser's veterinary and health procedure.

You are not alone the first time. Birmakredsen is happy to help with the practical details – from registration and cage curtains to questions in the show hall.
Cat shows are about judging, community and an opportunity to get to know the breed and other cat owners better. We have gathered the most important starting points here.
A FIFe show can look complicated from the outside. Once you know the sequence – entry, check-in, cage, judging and possibly nomination – the day becomes much easier to understand.
Here you will find both the practical first-show guide and the pages you may need before and during the show.
Report your arrival, present the required documents and follow the organiser's veterinary and health procedure.
Set up the cat's space, find the catalogue number and check which judge and ring your cat belongs to.
The judge assesses the cat against the FIFe breed standard and writes a report.
Depending on the result and the day's competition, the cat may continue to BIV, nomination and Best in Show.
| EX | Excellent. A quality grade. EX1 means the cat is placed first among the cats directly competing in its class. |
|---|---|
| CAC / CAP etc. | Certificate. Adult entire cats and neuters compete in title classes. A certificate is a step towards the next FIFe title and can be withheld if the judge considers the requirements not met. |
| BIV | Best in Variety. Best in a variety/colour group when the competition requirements are met. |
| NOM | Nomination for Best in Show. The judge selects from their best cats for the final panel. |
| BIS | Best in Show. Winner of the final judging panel. Some shows also use BOS/BOX for Best Opposite Sex. |
| Breed BIS | Breed Best in Show. A separate Best in Show for one breed when FIFe's Breed BIS conditions are met. |
Class 12 is for kittens from 4 to 8 months and class 11 for juniors from 8 to 12 months. They can compete for CACC/CACJ and the Kitten Champion and Junior Champion titles.
From 12 months the title route uses CAC, CACIB, CAGCIB and CACS – from Champion to Supreme Champion.
Neuters follow the parallel route with CAP, CAPIB, CAGPIB and CAPS – from Premier to Supreme Premier.
